As a long time member and contributor to Ozdeer, it is with great pleasure that I can finally introduce Moroka.30, Australia’s first dedicated brand of hunting gear, as a site sponsor. Moroka.30 Equipment and Apparel is a complete range of high quality, lightweight hunting and backpacking equipment, apparel and optics, all specifically custom designed for the unique and varying demands of Victorian and Australian Alpine conditions. For too long the needs of Australian hunters have been ignored and we have been forced to either import and/or pay big prices for brand name equipment stocked by boutique outdoor and hiking stores that is not designed for hunting and rugged bush use. All of the Moroka.30 equipment has been specifically designed and chosen for its intended use; hunting, and for that we make no apologies, although any outdoor enthusiast will find the gear ideally suited to their purpose. I have personally designed most of the equipment and have taken valued input from many other hunters. While I am very proud of the products we have developed and will be able to offer hunters this season, some of these for the first time ever, I am still a firm believer in LISTENING in detail to the NEEDS of fellow hunters and aim constantly to improve and expand our range of products. I would personally like to extend an invitation to all Ozdeer members to visit our first ever display at this year’s Hunting and Guiding Expo at Rutherglen Feb 6 & 7, site 53 A&B in the outdoor area. The format of the website which is in the final stage of construction will be very innovative and highly informative, giving users the opportunity to assess thoroughly all of the gear and its suitability for their individual needs. As an added bonus there will be some great deals on offer exclusively to Ozdeer members throughout the coming season. It has been a long, long time in the making however, I feel it is an exciting time for us all and now Victorian and Australian hunters will be specifically catered for like never before. More information will be available on Ozdeer in the near future and information and reviews will be published in the Australian hunting print media throughout the year. There will also be some great new gear up for grabs soon in the Ozdeer trail camera competition. With our recent luck in the NZ Wapiti Ballot for this year, our full range of backpacking kit will be given the best field test possible across the Tasman in Fiordland, and the results will be available for everyone to see and assess for themselves via the web in late April. We should also have some great results from local field tests conducted throughout the approaching Red and Fallow and Hog Deer
rut. As the weather cools we approach the backpacking season for our own mighty Sambar. Many hunters will then have the chance to try the gear for themselves as they head off on their own adventures and push deep into the Victorian wilderness in pursuit of undoubtedly our greatest prize.
